What Most People Don't Realize About Homophobia, This Guy Nails It

I don't understand homophobia. I mean the word "homophobia." I don't get it. Fear of gays? If a lot of gay folks move into your neighborhood, your property value goes up and you get a new Whole Foods.

What's to be afraid of?

I once heard a guy say, "I don't want gays around. They'll try and convert me."

Umm, they're not Jehovah's Witnesses, Skeeter. They don't spend Sunday knocking on doors asking who's read from the book of Judy Garland.

Sunday isn't for recruiting, it's for brunch, silly.

And if the reason you don't want to be around gay men is because you're afraid they'll somehow be able to talk you into being gay, then surprise... YOU'RE GAY

If you're totally straight, then what are you afraid of?

You'll be at a party, some tall drink of water's gonna be handing out free BJ coupons, and you'll think,

"Well, I can't turn down a deal, now can I? Not in this economy!"

Homophobia isn't fear of gays. It's fear you may BE gay. It should be called: "I'M A HOMO-PHOBIA"

And for the record, don't be afraid. Gay men aren't vampires, they don't bite, and they can't convert you.

They're more like Hagrid from Harry Potter: All they can do is introduce you to a fabulous new world by letting you know the magic was in you all along.

Super Bowl Sunday: it's the only time when commercials are more popular than the show they interrupt. However, this year's best ad might not even be on TV.

Kenan Thompson Just Hit The Ice With Other 'Mighty Ducks' Cast Members, And The Nostalgia Is Real Y'all 😍
Walt Disney Picture

A mini-reunion took place over the weekend, as actors from the Mighty Ducks film series met up at an ice rink in upstate New York. Afterwards, they attended an Anaheim Duck's game.

The nostalgia-fest started with Danny Tamberelli, who played Tommy Duncan in the first film, posting photos of the group to his Instagram.

They wore recreations of the bright green jerseys the team wore in the movie.

Watching them, you can almost hear the whine of your old VHS player.

He was joined by Kenan Thompson, Vincent LaRusso, Colombe Jacobsen-Derstine, and Garette Ratliff Henson. All five acted in at least one of the Mighty Ducks movies.

After the fun of skating around the ice rink, the group switched jerseys to the more modern Anaheim Ducks design. They wore personalized jerseys with the names of their characters on the back.

The Anaheim Ducks account posted about it on Twitter.

People were tagging their friends to let them know!

The group got to watch a game the actual sports team started because of the popularity of their movie, played on Sunday against the New York Islanders.

The original film starred Emilio Estevez as Gordon Bombay, a lawyer charged with drunk driving, who has to perform 500 hours of community service. Because of his background as a child hockey star, Bombay is ordered to coach a peewee hockey team. While initially reluctant, he guides the misfits to victory.

Danny Tamberelli, Garette Ratliff Henson, and Vincent LaRusso starred in the first film, while Kenan Thompson and Colombe Jaconsen-Derstine were in the second.

It's unknown at this time why the group reunited, though some are speculating for a Superbowl commercial.

But we have to ask the real questions here.

Kendall Jenner Wearing A Massive Winter Coat Is Like Lenny Kravitz's Scarf 2.0 😂
Twitter

We all love a good meme, and the best memes often imitate life. Model Kendall Jenner is the latest target of the Instagram account @itsmaysmemes, which photoshops celebrities in hilariously oversized outerwear.

At least it looks cozy...

Soon, Vogue France tweeted the image and all hell broke loose.

The caption reads:

"Winter is coming !"

Indeed.

People made their own versions.

Some compared it to other strange fashion choices we've seen over the years.

And there were those who had some pretty interesting ideas about what this looked like.

Perhaps we loved it because it did seem just avant garde enough for Jenner to actually wear. Turns out we all can! Well, sort of. The jacket is a digitally enlarged version of The Super Puff jacket at Aritzia. Even the non-Photoshopped version looks pretty cozy!
